Examination structure

CSP exam format

The Certified Safety Professional examination is a computer-based, multiple-choice test delivered at Pearson VUE. The current blueprint label is CSP-11. SafePath’s mock exam uses the same length options and CBT chrome so pacing is practiced before the appointment.

Published sitting facts

  • 200 multiple-choice items in one sitting.
  • 5.5 hours of seat time.
  • Computer-based testing at Pearson VUE after BCSP authorization.
  • Seven domains under CSP-11, with Domain 1 and Domain 2 at 25% each.
  • A specified calculator policy. Practice on the same class of device you will take into the center.

BCSP may include pretest items and uses a scaled passing standard. Recheck the official candidate materials before you schedule.

How to rehearse the format

Use a 50-item warm-up, then 100-item diagnostics, then a 200-item mock with flag and review. The failure mode is not “I never saw this topic.” It is running out of time on calculation stems and over-choosing administrative controls.

CSP study questions

How many questions are on the CSP exam?
The current sitting is 200 multiple-choice items in 5.5 hours at Pearson VUE. Confirm the live candidate bulletin with BCSP.
Is the CSP exam open book?
No. It is a closed-book computer-based exam. Practice pacing, flag/review, and the allowed calculator before the appointment.
How should I rehearse the format?
Use a short diagnostic, then 100-item sets, then a 200-item CBT mock. The common failure is time on calculation stems, not unseen topics.
